Preaching Colloquium

From the very beginning, the Bible teaches us that when God gives life to his people, he does so through his Word.  Therefore, one of the most important functions of the church is the preaching of the Scriptures.  Here at Third Avenue, we want to be serious about training men to go out into the world and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  That’s what the Third Avenue Preaching Colloquium is all about.

Each semester, we invite a group of eight men to meet together for six straight Sunday afternoons in order to preach to one another and receive feedback. Besides hearing constructive critique from your fellow students, you’ll also receive feedback each week from some of Third Avenue’s most insightful, gifted, experienced preachers.  The best way to get better at preaching is simply to do it—over and over and over—and be encouraged both in what you’re doing right and where you could improve.  The Third Avenue Preaching Colloquium provides exactly that opportunity.
