A and M

A & M joined Third Avenue in 2005 while students at UofL, being married there in 2007. They have been serving in Southeast Asia among one of the region’s largest unreached people groups since April 2011, working primarily as mission field mentors and mobilizers. Since 2017, their work has shifted to focus primarily on making disciples among university students and young working professionals in their city, as well as planting an international church where A serves as Senior Pastor. In Feb 2020 they joined with Reaching and Teaching as a better theological and strategic fit for their work. It is their desire for the church to serve as place of ministry for both nationals and expats and a model for healthy churches among those they are seeking to establish. Using relationships through the membership of the church, A & M are developing partnerships in the region in order to work together for the furtherance of the gospel both in and beyond the city where they serve.

Matt and Emily

Matt and Emily first came to Louisville as newly weds in the fall of 2011 for Matt to attend seminary. They quickly made Third their home and dove deep into the life of the church. During the summer of 2012, they helped lead a college team to East Asia. After that, they began exploring the idea to join 3ABC supported workers in the fall of 2015, where they could both do campus evangelism, and Matt could gain experience as a pastoral assistant at the international church. Two years turned into five and their roles changed over the years, yet their mission remained the same: to serve their local church, and make Christ known in their city where Matt served as pastor at an international church while Emily kept busy with their two boys, Samuel and Calvin. In 2021, they moved to SE Asia and are in the process of planting a local church in a large city. They love hospitality, traveling with friends, and a walking life.

Mark and Megan

Mark and Megan first came to Louisville in 2008 for Mark to attend seminary.  Third Avenue was to them a model of faithful ministry and loving community that they are trying to reproduce on the mission field.  They initially served in East Asia, where Mark pastored a local church and fostered growing and planting other healthy churches in the city. They moved to a large city in SE Asia in 2022 where Mark currently pastors a local church. They have 6 kids, Caroline (16), Lawrence (14), Judson (12), Emma (12), Luke (8), and Abigail (2).
