Third Avenue Baptist Church (3ABC) is uniquely positioned within the city of Louisville providing us exciting opportunities for ministry across our city and around the world. 3ABC Staff Internships are available to both men and women, and designed to prepare the next generation of leaders through equipping, coaching, and hands on experience in the areas of discipleship, local and global outreach.

HOW LONG IS THE INTERNSHIP?

The staff internship is 9 months (September 1 - May 31).

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BE AN INTERN?

Unless there is a desire to earn course credit, there is no cost for participating in the internship.

IS THIS A PAID INTERNSHIP?

Each intern will receive a $1000.00 stipend disbursed over the course of 9months.

CAN I RECEIVE COLLEGE/SEMINARY CREDIT FOR THIS INTERNSHIP?

YES! Interns are able to receive up to 18hrs of elective course credit from Southern Seminary or Boyce College. See staff for more details.

WHAT ARE INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES?

Interns will give attention to personal and spiritual development through reading books, writing reflection papers, and participating in group discussions. Interns will also help research best practices in the areas of discipleship, local and global outreach. There will be opportunities to develop systems to support ongoing ministry, provide administrative support, and assist in planning, leading and executing various church initiatives.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WEEK LOOK LIKE?

Things will look different from week to week depending on the area of focus, upcoming events, and project research. There are weekly meetings to help organize the intern’s 15hr work week.

WHAT KIND OF BOOKS WILL WE BE READING?

We’ll read and discuss books addressing many different aspects of ministry. Some of these subjects will include, but are not limited to theology, ecclesiology, discipleship, evangelism, missions, counseling, leadership development, and church administration.

WHEN AND WHERE CAN I APPLY FOR THE INTERNSHIP?

All applicants must be committed members of Third Avenue for at least one year before applying. Applications will be received June 1 - July 31.
